Dr. Syde A. Taheri, clinical assistant professor of surgery at University at Buffalo and award-winning inventer, has been selected to receive the 2006 D’Youville College Achievement in Health Care Award.  Dr. Taheri is one of two recipients to be honored with this annual award.

Dr. Taheri has received worldwide recognition with his invention of the Talent Thoracic Stent Graft, a life-saving device used throughout the world to treat patients at risk of – or suffering from – thoracic aneurysms.  It is now undergoing clinical trials in the United States for FDA approval.
